I'd be interested to know the cost too.
I got a Monster FM transmitter for my IPod touch - cost was about $90 canadian from Future Shop. Like most of these devices, it plugs into the cigarette lighter and transmits an FM signal that you pick up on the radio (+ it charges the ipod at the same time). Sound quality is poor to medium depending on competing radio stations - fiddling around to change normal bass/treble settings gets it a bit better still.
So, all in all better than nothing but a bit of a second rate solution.

The Jaguar ACM connects through the car's internal fiber optic network and is accessed by the CDC button on the dash. The connectors for your devices will live inside the center armrest storage bin. If you have a factory CD changer that already uses the CDC button, no worry. There's a selector switch on the acm head to choose between the CD changer and the acm. And if you already have a cd changer, it shouldn't be necessary to reprogram the car after installation.
The list price on the acm kit is several hundred dollars. There are some nice discounts available for forum members from forum sponsor dealers. It's VERY important to get the most current version because the hardware and software have been updated several times to keep up with Apple.
I had mine installed at a dealer (programming was needed). Shop around because apparently, dealers don't install these often. I got time estimates from 1.5 all the way up to 4 hours at whatever the local labor rate was. The average quote was 2-2.5 hours.
The X and S Types use the same kit (though not all the same parts) and there are several threads in both forums. Some members have installed their own successfully.
I balked for quite a while because of what seemed too high a price but I'm happy with having the module in place. And the usb connector makes a convenient charging connection for lots of other devices as well.
