I took my oral review board for Richardson PD and was denied...man this is the worst feeling ever....
dood... that sucks. I'm sorry man. I know how tough it must feel, to be pluggin' away at something like that, and then get a setback like that.
Hang in there.

It's no big deal. This was my first stab at even being a LEO (other than having 12 credit hours studying criminal justice.) The fact I made it as far as I did is impressive (I guess.) If I wouldn't have choked when it counted the most I'd be commenting about how I got it. It was a pretty crappy feeling but they all liked me up at the dept. it just came down to performing, which I didn't. I still have Ft. Worth but I really wanted RPD. I did a ride-in with Ft. Worth Sunday night though, and had a blast so I don't have any problems with going to Ft. Worth I was really psyched into RPd and their ideals.

I definitely have a completely different idea of what being a LEO is now though, which should help me in the future. The job isn't as easy as anyone would think. (But I want it even more now though! LOL )

I think the biggest part is how I'm relieved that I found an ophthalmologist that didn't bend me over backwards. RPD requires an eye test (ishihara) that has at least 14 plates while most places only have 6-8 plate tests. I was looking at having to spend around $200 for the freaking eye exam and color blindness test![:'(] Luckily I found a doc at target that did it for like $52 or something like that. So other than about 4 or 5 tanks of gas (21gallons/fill) and that eye exam I didn't get too financially invested.

Everything happens for a reason and I'd imagine Ft. Worth will be a more fast-paced always busy dept. so we shall see....

Good luck with that Quill.........I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours this time bud
As for my ride? Still runNin the A6 although spookily enough I was thinkin about a change today!!!
Dunno though, we'll see. I'd really take a huge hit on it if I did, so I'm still unsure.
Wifes got a new ride though to replace the ST...VW Passat 1.9 tdi Highline. Nice lookin car, decent options, enough grunt and great fuel economy....and above all, she's pleased....lol

LOL! I guess I was just wondering if you got another car, sounds like you did! LOL

The a6 is nice, no reason to get rid of it! I'm sick of getting a car and getting rid of it a year or 2 later! I get bored with it though and want something else! I wanted the avant a4 until I went to a dealer and found out everything I wanted was an option and didn't come with the car.[:'(]

As for the next review board, I have to pass! I'm ready to get out of the house! Not to mention thinking about getting out every day since November had me really psyched so I can't go through another failed board, if I do it means I have to wait that much longer...[:'(][:'(][:'(]

I know I'm looking forward to getting another car but the wife is giving me limits which suck! LOL [:'(]

I guess you must be goin a little stir crazy Quill? Dyin to get out and back into the swing of things by the sound of it mate
On the car front - I love my A6 but as much as I want to keep it, I feel its time for sumthin new, I just get bored way too easily...lol
Looked at the BMW 7 series, Audi A8 too, although I'd deffo go used this time. Some of the deals are unbelievable
The hit on a new car is just outta this world[&:][&:]......Never again!
I could do the Ford Mondeo Titanium X 2.2 no problem or maybe even the new Passat TDI Sport..they're nice rides.

You can't be thinkin bout changin already didn't you just get that explorer a little while ago??

so... not to change the subject too much... but this IS the OFF-TOPIC thread....

Have I been banned? By 'I', I mean Mcjaguar. Yes, that's my alternate personality I guess.... Since I can't seem to get logged-in, nor can I get the Forum system to send me my password (I did not forget it, but since it wouldn't recognize me, I went through the hoops anyway) and when I've finally emailed an administrator, I haven't rec'd anything there either.
What gives?

A little over a week ago, the forum went down for several days... or so I thought, because when I would go to the URL, it would tell me the "site does not exist"... and that's from several computers... not just my two main stations.
Then it reappeared with this new format, and it seems that everyone else had been posting uninterrupted-like.... everyone but me.
I've been trying for most of a week to get a response so I could get logged-back-in.... to no avail.
Then, today I rec'd in my email box a couple replies to threads I've subscribed to... but replies from 10 days ago!
Also, I've got this funky thing going-on with the site when I use Mozilla. I can't navigate away from the home page. If I click on a link or enter my login info, it clicks... then reloads the main page.

There are some very, very fishy things going-on here.
Anyone else having any issues?

Hey McJag......nice to see you around albeith in a different guise.
You haven't been banned as far as I know...The symptoms you offer are similar to what I suffer at present along with others.
Try the following.

Top of the page - Create an account
Black box further down click on "log out"
Then try going thru the login process again

Its what seems to work for me at the mo

If you have any further probs either pm me or email me at
jim@campbellraith.freeserve.co.uk

Cheers

Jim

I hear ya on that! I haven't been able to get on since I think Friday???

It disappeared and shortly after popped back up and every time I logged on or clicked on anything it would just re-load to the main/home page.

It was crazy because I thought the site was gone and I don't have any personal emails for anyone. I figured it was just me.

Jim-we did just get the mountaineer but we're going to need another vehicle for me. I haven't a clue what I'm going to do now, just found out last Friday we'll be moving again. Luckily only about 15 miles away. If I get Ft. Worth the drive will be about 85-90 miles per day.
