I just look at some of those phrases you use, Jim, and realize I've got to stop speaking American and learn English!

Nothing to regret. It's an accent thing mostly. We all mix our phrases around. For example:

boot = trunk
bonnet = hood
hood = roof
lorry = truck

The local news played some interviews after the Scotland airport bombing and actually had subtitles for translations! It was crazy.

Elvis Costello had a line from the song "King of America," "I don't speak any English, just American about tears." Elvis rocks! That's really where it came from.

O yea I was just watching Major League for like the 50th time, and I just caught this part and it made me laugh hysterically.

IN the beggining when all the players show up to spring training, willie mays hayes comes, and of course he isn't actually a ball player, wasn't even invited. BUt he drives up in a Rolls ROyce, and I just realized it is a VW beatle, with rolls royceish colors and a stolen hood ornament.
