does anyone know if I can reach the antenna plug on a 04' X type radio from removal of the ash tray and reaching up to the radio unit?

from pictures I've seen it appears that the optic antenna cable is in one of the bottom corners of the CD player , picture would be great!

 

Instead of the ashtray try removing one or both of the kick panels on the side of the center console. There is one screw near the seat. Take that screw out then gently pry down and out and the panel will pop out of the clip retainers. You can see most of the wiring behind the radio from there.

It’s just as easy to take the unit out. Just lift up the ashtray, undo the screws. Go to your hazard, warning and click it and do the screws and stereo and just pull out that way you’ll have no problems.
