1. Was the radio in the X Type ever equipped with an auxiliary input for an iPod?

2. Would a later head (2006-8 cd) fit an earlier model a (2002 cassette) and work ok?

3. Will a Nav radio work in my 2002 X Type without any mods?

4.Anyone know of any cheaper ways to hard-wire an iPod aux cable into the X Type system? Jag want over $700 for the ACM kit.

My CD is not working correctly and I am thinking of putting in an after market Audio system in my 2004 x-type. Crutchfield has a complete kit. They even give full instruction on installation. The kit does a bypass of the amp and wires directly to the speakers on the output side of the amp. All this for around $350. Bluetooth and Iphone supported. The unit that you are talking about is about $380 plus shipping
