I regularly stop by here for a peek, so best i put up a question, my wifes x type 3.0 awd 2004 model, the screen flashes the jag logo every few seconds, kind of annoying, but everything else works, mist are saying new screen, the jag dealer is a day of work to visit, and says he will diagnose, yet my mechanic who specializes in jags and does those jobs I cant (which is not many) says it is screen replacement, not sure I want to take a day of work and pay to be told the same thing, any ideas peoples

 

Can anyone help out Mark the newb with this issue?

Hmmm....i guess it depends what screen you have up when the logo flashes.

If you are on the menu screen where the "Logo"soft button is, then it might have something to do with the touchscreen itself, but if it were you should also have problems on other screens, of the same location of that soft button is, e.g. On the climate or audio screen, a function would be randomly selected.

If you don't, then there is a glich in the DVD drive itself, the touchscreen is just a screen, all the brains are in the DVD drive...

 

Thanks Cambo, it does it where ever I am, making using the screen very hard, flashes jag emblem every 3 or 4 seconds all the time
