Default x type sticking rear left caliper e brake

Finally got around to looking at why the ebrake is barely holding. Seems the d side bracket had seized. A couple pops with a hammer and loosening the t30 pivot bolt and it is now looser but doesn't want to return all the way. What happens if I take this apart on the back side anybody have a internal diagram? Cheapest I can find is 60 for one via rock auto would hate to buy one just for the e brake.

Trevor, having torn a few of the calipers apart, you can pull off that T-30 bolt and not have any issues. You will find a rubber cover under the lever and if you pull that off, you will see a shaft that goes into the caliper body. You can try adding some WD-40 or other similar product there to try and flush out the rust. But, from my experience, you need to either pull out the shaft and clean up the insides using a scouring pad and/or emery cloth or you will need to get yourself a new caliper and install that.

Unfortunately, I fought the e-brake on my X-Type. I was messing with one of the calipers about every year. I got to the point that I bought a rebuild kit and the special socket to pull the caliper apart. if you don't mind a "little" trip, I am an hour south of DC. I am sure I can get you taken care of in about an hour.
