I have in the shop a 2004 X type 3.0 ... The throttle does not work... I have a code for the throttle actuator , but I dont think this is what failed... I have evap codes and a/c compressor relay codes that are coming up instantly with the throttle code , and the throttle and evap controls run off of the same fuse ... Has any one run into this before , is there a separate fuse that I am missing , Nodata (alldata) has diagrams but they are not correct.. I cant find the throttle relay.. Anyone know where it is ??? Thanks Alan
eurotec, first, do you have a 2004 or a 2004.25 X-type? There are slight differences between the two. Assuming you have a 2004, if you open up the hood, open up the power distribution/relay box(above the driver's side wheel well) and look at it. On the edge nearest the bumper (towards the engine), you will see 3 large relays in the shape of an "L". On the inside of this "L", there will be a smaller relay, that is your throttle motor relay. The relay is known as "R11".
If you have a 2004.25 model, look in the back of your car at the fuse box back there (passenger side). If you look at one end of it, there will be a large cover. Remove the cover, you will find 4 relays back there (R7, R8, R9, and R10), R7 is the throttle motor relay.
Hope this helps. If you need any more info, just hollar.
first time poster long time follower of your advice Thermo (first car and since has been an x type propped up on your knowledge). from my understanding the r7-r10 relays are non serviceable pcbs built into the passenger side fuse box. if these are fixable or swappable this would be great to know.
are r7to r10 fuses replaceable on a " jaguar X-Type"

. These relays control various electrical systems, and accessing them requires removing the lid of the fuse box, which may require releasing clips with a screwdriver.

should have clarified I have the 2004.25 wiring on my vehicle so my throttle control relay is in the passenger fuse box. On the wiring diagram it states they are non serviceable pcb relays

bear in mind ai is OFTEN very WRONG and can lead you up the garden path to a slap in the face
My Jag Electrical Guide for VIN: E19616 on says R7 to R10 are non-serviceable, they are built in to the fusebox PCB. The guide calls out R7 as the Throttle Motor Relay for the 2.5L and the 3.0L. If you have a 2.0L or a 2.2L or your VIN is before E19616 none of this applies. I guess?
Bottom line, if your Throttle Motor Relay is built in to the fusebox PCB and you have traced your fault to that relay you will probably need to get a fusebox from a junkyard, Jag parts specialist, or Jag dealer.
