Default The X to the XF in a few years?

so i have been having a thought i can't get out of my head... In a few years when the used XF market is upon me, how can i resist getting one? I am also afraid that in 2 or 3 years when people usually get rid of there new cars for newer cars and the leases end, no one will. I am hoping they do but why would you? I guess the payment? to down size to a less expensive car (but the XF is not even that much new). other then that I can't see why anyone would get rid of there 2-4 year old XF. There is nothing else in the class that compares. maybe by then there will be and my dreams will be answered. So who else has thought of getting rid of there X type to get an XF in a few years when they start to pop up used?

I will probaly will buy a used XF myself and let some other poor sap losetheir butt in deprciation on them, like I did when I bought my X..But will very closely look at the build dates on the door sill..Anyone of themthat is actually built in late 2008 through 2009 will be up for grabs for me.

I was thinking the same thing. Butas withthe X-Type, I'd want to avoid theearly production years with their teething problems. I've read that the 08s arepretty bad.

Don't worry Jvegas, there will always be people who want to trade these cars in, whether for lease returns or to get the next hot car. You'll be able to find a car when you're ready.

I had that thought before I had even found my X-Type when looking in dealers. Sat in an XF and just knew I wanted one as soon as I can afford one. If the depreciation on the X-Type I have is anything to go by, in 3 years time one should be within budget, possibly 4 years.

Yep the XF is a beautiful car thats for sure. I'll definitely be considering one in the future when they get to that sorta age. My days of buying new and taking biggg hits in depreciation are long gone[&:]

Count me in. I want that fricking car. I have about 2 years of mileage left on my X type extended warranty. I might run it another 6 months after that, then I'm gonna try to find an off lease XF or who knows, the way things are going there might be some nice repo deals.

I really want an XJ Super, but it just might be too big.

With the economy in the tank there may be more available sooner than you want. But, there are going to be lease returns and who knows, in a few years the next artificial economic boom may happen and tons of people will be out buying the next new car they can't really afford freeing up YOUR slightly used XF...I keep in touch witha dealership inScottsdale still because I want to know someone a couple years from now when I tell them what I'm looking for.

I search CarMax everyday just to see if an XF pops up. When one does, for a decent price, I for sure will pull the trigger. XF Supercharged South of 40k will get my $.

If I can get a decent deal on a new one and lease it, I'd even go for that. But I have to wait a little while, since I just bought the wife a new Ironman V8 Explorer for christmas.

I'd love to have one. Who knows where we'll be in a few years (but then again I want a lot of different cars, lol).

And THAT...may be one of the best kept secrets. I've noticed all of lots picked up our Jags in this way. I did and I plan to do it again.
