X400 SE Estate rear springs
Has anyone had experience of replacing the rear springs on the X-Type. I am getting conflicting information on what are the correct springs for my car. RD6506 would look to fit but there are several other springs available. Is the physical fitting on all X400's the same? Does the SE have "Sports Suspension"? My car is X400 2.0 litre diesel SE Estate. Any experiences would be appreciated.
Richard, there are 2 different springs for the X-Type that I am aware of. You have the sport springs and the normal (comfort) springs. If in doubt, there should be a sticker on your springs with a number on it. Or, note the color of the sticker. The color refers to the style of spring. From there, you can get the correct spring
Unlike the USA where there's a limited range of X types and therefore springs, here in the UK there are different ones for petrol v diesel, saloon v estate, AWD and FWD, sport v comfort. This is not well understood by all the cheaper spares providers/ebay sellers
I would suggest you contact SNG Barratt - https://www.sngbarratt.com/ - and get the right answer first time. They can usually offer a choice of OEM or pattern parts.

Without wanting to hijack this post, I'm about to start work on the back end of my sport saloon, replacing all bushes and suspension parts that need renewing, had new shocks a while back so hoping they dont need touching, but will also be undersealing and grinding any rot out to make good. I'm hoping to find a complete suspension kit, there are a few on Ebay but you do get suspect parts when buying from Ebay so need to be careful. On that note does anybody know of any kits available that come with all bushes upper and lower control arms etc?
