As much as I'd like a set of Proteus or Melbournes, the 18's aren't for me and the prices seem a bit steep for a good set. So, scrounging around, I found a set of XF Libra (17 x 7.5) wheels and thought they'd look pretty good on my "new" X. Does anyone have any experience fitting XF wheels to an X-Type. Same 5 x 108 bolt pattern, 49mm offset. Thanks for any help you can provide.

 

I agree. I'm not feeling the 18s much more either, I think 19s are the best size for this car and also have great ride quality.

You should be fine with a 49mm offset on a wheel that narrow. I wouldn't go any wider than a 225/45/17 though, because they will sit pretty far inward toward the front strut.

 

Jeremy-thanks for your response. I like your Monoblocks and looked at some RH replicas but it might be a bit tough to get them. I'm going to plunk for the Libra's.
