Mrqng78, a blinking CEL light indicates that the computer thinks that the problem is severe enough that you may be causing damage to the engine and/or catalytic converter.

As for what you should do, I would start with doing a plug change. During the plug change, cylinder one is the back left cylinder as you are looking into the engine bay. Remove that coil and put it on cylinder 2 (front left cylinder). This is going to do 2 things for you. One, if the problem moves, this will confirm that you have a bad coil. And 2, if the coil is bad, this is easy to replace as it is out in the open and you don't need to remove anything to replace it. if the problem remains on cylinder 1, then we most likely have a wiring issue.

Of note, when you do the plug change, look at the end of the coil for any signs of oil. It is possible that you have some oil in the cylinder and this is causing the cylinder not to fire correctly. The back cylinders (against the firewall) are known for leaking and causing a misfire. If you find oil, let us know and we can take things from there.

When all else fails, read the documentation
The codes PDF / workshop manual / other forum posts (all free) say what P1647 is.

Thanks for the info Thermo, Will be doing all plugs this coming wkend with my mechanic as don't have the tools to do them and also will do an oil and oil filter change same time if I find out the sump leak is only from the sump plug, as investigated earlier in the year and was told the incorrect sump was used. No major oil leak, doesn't drip and its not loosing oil.
Also my mechanic plugged his Diagnostic tool and it read cylinder 2 has a misfire. So hopefully after this service all should be well and my CEL should disappear!!!!.
I will keep you peeps updated.

Mrqng78, from my experience, if you are only getting a misfire on cylinder 2, it most likely is due to some oil getting in the plug well. Worst case, you will end up replacing the back valve cover gasket to get rid of the oil leak.

Hi Thermo, what does the back cover valve gasket look like?
I have rescheduled my service due to work commitments. I am only having one error code. Misfire on cylinder 2, now because i haven't opened it, i don't know if there's oil in the plug well or not.
Please advise if this valve gasket cover will affect the service i plan to do.
Thanks.
