Default Xtype hood latch fix with key fob

Try this before you tear into replacing cable or anything else it may work. So checking the fluids today when I went to close hood it wouldn’t latch. I messed with it a few minutes with no luck. Had to leave so I was gonna lock it up and drive truck. When I went to lock with remote it wouldn’t lock doors because the hood sensored it was still open. This reset the hood latches luckily and hood latched normal

another way for some x types is to, either side of the central latch, locate the cables on both sides and "twang" them a few times like a guitar string.
go to your hood opener under the dash, if the hood wont latch and the opener is floppy and flops around this will likely work.
if the opener is solid then its a different issue

I can't tell you what a pain in the butt it is when those hood latches and/or cables lock up when the hood is closed. I encourage everyone to spray a little bit of oil on those hood latches and a drop or two of oil on the release cable next time you have the hood open. An ounce of prevention can save you so much frustration.

Ok this just happened to me. Went to open the hood and the left latch opened but the right one did not. Looking in the grill I see the cable came off!

Now what?
