Well I as the title states my wife is having a litany of issues with her X Type!! The car is Jerking and Hesitating is A big way! On start up the car barely has any power and is almost dying at idle...

Here are the codes. P0171. P0174. P0430. P0442 P0455 P01603 P1000 P1603..........

Honestly it feels to me as if the Cat is clogged!

Any ideas I would sure appreciate them!!!

**SIGH** see the search function up above? This is what you'll find.

P1603 = EEPROM fault = No big deal, code states batt. disconnected while ignition is switch on. happens all the times. Disconnect battery, wait 10 minutes, reconnect.

P0171 WITH (again with) a P0174 = 99% is VACUUM LEAK(s) = check/fix the normal culprits =

P0430= Cat code = best case = replace O2 sensor, worst case = Cat is dead.

etc., etc., etc.....

Usually when cats are clogged, problem starts at higher RPM (idle is OK), but it depends on how bad cat is.
Vacuum leak is opposite, it is bad at idle but at higher RPM is much better.
Listen for air sucking sound around engine. Use camera and shoot video, moving it around engine. I stole a toy stethoscope (no stick) from my daughter, it works fine.
Checking cats involves removing upper o2 sensors and installing special tool in their places, I used to sell them on ebay.
