Xtype tyre size
Hello all
I hoping to get some opinions. I was just offered an almost new set of tyres for a good deal and am wondering if they would fit well on my 2006 xtype sport. The one on offer are 225/55r17.
I currently have 225/45r17 and they are due to be changed soon.
I must add that where i live most of our roads are not in good condition. we have lots of holes and bumps and the quality of the asphalt is not good.
much appreciated.

Depending on which country you're based in, your insurance company might be interested! Certainly would be if you're in UK!!

mojojagx, not to be a spoiler for what you are desiring, but I think you are going to have some serious issues with those tires if you put them on your car. I am running oversized tires on my car (235/45R17's) and those tires just clear in the fender well. I can actually see a few scuff marks where the tires have occasionally rubbed under the most adverse of conditions. The tires that you are looking at are going to be 1.4" bigger in diameter. What this means for you is that you are going to be rubbing the tires on the fender well that much easier. Can you put them on the car and be fine for 90% of your driving, probably. It is that 10% when you are making tight turns or hitting those big pot holes that I am fearing you are going to damage something. So, while the tires may be a good deal, I think they are going to cost you more in the long run than getting a set of properly sized tires.
