Default You guys will disagree with this, but I'm keeping my new bumper trim chrome

So I got the bumper trim from the rest-of-world X-Type to delete my bumper lights completely. I think it's flawed thinking to say that dechroming automatically equals "sportier" and like how this plays on the retro styling of the X-Type.

My car is a Sport and had silver bumper trim prior (as you can see in my sig photo).

Minagallery.com.

Because I hate the facelift bumpers - mirrors are ok though, but I doubt I'll do them.

I like it, how much did these cost you? And how hard was the install?

I think on any other car that wasn't heavily modded, I would like to see them painted because it makes the x type look sportier, but with your car, it already looks hella sporty. I like them

Noooooo! Lol jk jk. They look clean and add eye candy. As mentioned before from another member, without the mods it would be a bad idea.

Sell me your old ones, mine got scruffed up bad. I'd buy the front two from you for the right price.

Does WA not have legal mandates for lights? Only curious, doubt you'd get hassled even if they do require certain lights. Looks good though. Good decision.

I like the chrome, I think it is just what your beauty needed!

The grille seemed lonely. And I just love that grille.

I think you'd be safe to go with the lower insert now, too.

I think in Texas you have to have some side turn signal indicatiors or it will not pass inspection. Either built in to the front head lights where they wrap around to the side or a separate indicator on the side of the car. maybe the one in front of the door flashes?

The fender lights work. I've also disabled the amber running lights in front (they still blink though) so just the city lights in the high beams illuminate with parking light. I'm a total rebel, like Kim Dotcom.

Question to those outside North America... Do the amber blinkers illuminate orange with just the parking light circuit or do they only blink with the turn signal? My guess is the latter, as I recall there was a law/code about this being a seperate bulb from the blinker.

Very nice ride. I am considering adding the side louvers to my 03 X-Type. My question for you is......was there any drilling required for the install?

The lights on the US-spec cars are confusing as hell...

My LHD Euro-spec has the following;

Indicators;
A single side lense, just ahead of the front doors, with a single bulb.
Fronts are in the dipped-beam. Rears are rears. They are all orange bulbs with clear lenses. These only work with the indicator or hazards. Not with the park or headlights.

Park Lights (with the head lights off);
In the rear it's the same as the headlights on, no different.
Fronts are a pair of little W5W in with the high-beams.
And that's it, no sidelights at all.
