Default 2019 XE R sport new battery now wont stary

Hi All
i have a slight issue with my 2019 XE R Sport

i hadn't driven it for 12 months and the battery was dead and i mean Nothing - Zip - DEAD FLAT
i manually unlocked the car put some jumpers on the front terminals under the bonnet and opened the boot to gain access to the battery
i fitted a new battery
all good so far.

When i went to start the car i have no dash panel lights or stereo. and the car wont turn over at all.
I've tried locking and unlocking the car manually and electronically. do i need to wait for a set time before restarting the car. (Does something have to recharge in the computer before starting)

am i missing something here

Thanks in advance

I never had an issue in installing a new battery for my XF. First, clean the cable terminals with a sand paper to remove rust, Then attach the battery cable + to + and - to - and then tighten. You'll know you did it right when the boot auxilliary light turns on. After that press your key fob remote to lock and unlock button to acknowedge the key fob. The car should start.

Check the voltage at the under bonnet/hood connectors that you used to power the trunk lid earlier. Should be close to battery voltage.
I hope you can confirm that the jump leads used to power the trunk lid were connected + to + and - to -

Have your new battery tested for a "load test" from the place of purchase. It could be defective or have it charged if it passed. The battery should be at least 12.6 volts to start the car

Did you press the lock and unlock button on the key fob to acknowlege key fob? After that try, putting the key fob on the left side of the steering wheel column. Then press start button.See if it wakes up. IT should for it should detect the key fob in the perimeter
