Hi Guys, I have a 2016 XE 20tt, now I know that a lot of people cant stand the auto on/off feature but I find it very good for fuel consumption in the Sydney traffic. now my problem is that it is showing as On/Off in my controls but it is not actually working, any ideas?

 

Lots of threads about this across several Jag models but the bottom line is that there are dozens of factors which will prevent SS from activating, all listed in your Owner Handbook.
The most common reason by far is a battery that is less than optimally charged so the first thing to try is to connect a battery trickle charger / maintainer overnight and see how you go.
It's also possible that if your battery is the original now around five years old it could be on it's last legs and need replacing.

 

Don’t know if the XE ever had a 2nd start/stop battery; they got rid of that in the F-type around 2016. My F-type ECO battery has been dead for a few years, so ECO is no longer available. Keep forgetting to remove it.

 

As far as I know, the XE does not have a second battery for the start/stop function. Either your battery is suboptimal, or I would recommend checking the software is up to date. If you can park your Jag near enough to your home router to get online, you can update it yourself through the touchscreen.

 

Old thread. I’ve since replaced my main battery, and Start/Stop has started working again. I think it hadn’t worked for a couple of years.
