Boom Boom Options?
Although I absolutely love the clarity and definition of our 11 speaker Meridian audio system, it just needs more bass. What are my best options for adding a subwoofer without messing up the factory system? Unfortunately, Crutchfield has not researched our vehicles and had nothing to offer. I am familiar with amps and subwoofers and presume that I would have to add a speaker level input powered sub. Obviously, taking up space in the boot is also a consideration and I am curious if anyone has already tackled this?
That is not encouraging...
I surfed the web and did not come up with a whole lot of options. I am going to take a look at the stock subwoofer setup for starters. Anyone know if it is a 2 or 4 (or some other value) ohm speaker?

I confirmed that the stock trunk mounted subwoofer is in fact working. It does seem to have pretty good thump, but not a whole lot of volume. I was outdoors when I check it and want to try it again in my garage at both low and high volume levels.
Played with the settings a bit over the past week. Centering the fade/balance and then setting the Bass at +4, Mid at +3 and Treble at +3 seemed to help with the overall thump and there was no apparent sacrifice in the fullness of the sound. At lower listening levels the bass isn't really apparent but as you roll the volume up above 6 or 7 it starts to come alive.
