Default Choice of light wheels?

Hey guys, has anyone installed aftermarket wheels that are lighter than OEM basic version wheels? If so, can you post what you got and if you have links?
Thank you.

I got these Velox wheels from Costco for the winter since My car came with summer only tires. They have really good prices. Do you mean lighter in color or weight?

Did you have the Propeller 20's on? I did and had to get a set of the Jaguar all black Venoms with all seasons for winter use.

what drawbacks did you notice with the summers on in the winter besides snow of course?

A FYI for everyone who changes wheels and tires on any XE: there is a CCF file that needs to be applied by the dealer if you change the wheels and tires due to overall rolling height and variance of front the rear sizes.

They didnt say the fine details of it and I'm sure you could still just drive it without the file but I think more than he speedo will be off as I'm told.

I even have it outlined on my repair order for order for when I had the dealer swap my wheels off when I had my car serviced.

I had the 20" propellers on but the dealer never told me they had summer only tires on them. I found out afterwards on the forums. They have the Pirelli P Zero's which after reading up on their warranty said they shouldn't be driven in temperatures under 45 degrees or you can cause stress cracks to form in the tire and it will void their warranty. That's when I decided to get a cheap set for the winter. I went with 18" x8" rims and Michelin PILOT SPORT A/S 3+ 225/45ZR18 tires. I figured the smaller rim would give me a little more tire sidewall for the winter potholes. And sure enough I hit one last week. I used the same size all around. I think the total difference in overall height was about a half inch. I got a set of tpms sensors of eBay 333mhz. I've had them on now for about 1000 miles and haven't noticed any problems. My only concern was the sensors but apparently after a few miles the car learned them the pressures check out.

I never drove the summer tires in snow but there is definately a difference in the grip. The summers are way stickier when its warmer out. They are much harder to slide in than all seasons.

How much was the winter wheel set from Costco if you don't mind me asking? I'd like to go summer/winter wheels.

Rims were 160 a piece including delivery center caps and lug nuts. I think everything including tires, mounting, balancing and taxes was under 1500.
