I am about to hit 60k miles/5 years. considering all the expensive parts and i wanted to keep my XE 35t AWD forever, have been shopping around for extended warranty.
though jaguar website says jaguar sells extended warranty, dealer says that doesnt exist.
i have been quoted 8000$ by the dealer.
any experience with extended warranties.
considering i bought mine in 2016, i do understand i would be one of the earliest, but guessing there will be a few in the same boat right now.

I would try to get a well-reputed 3rd party warranty if you can. Here in the UK Jaguar sell warranty extensions, but they are eye-wateringly expensive. All warranties will have a condition that any claim cannot exceed the value of the car. So if you buy, (say) three years, the warranty company's risk goes down as time goes on, due to the car's market value going down. FWIW, I took out a 3rd party warranty early this year for three years.
Of course in the US you have a 5-year warranty on your Jaguar, in the UK it is three years. I'm surprised the dealer says there is no extension option. Have you raised the matter with Jaguar North America ?

 

Find out how much per month the warranty folks want, and simply put that much into a savings account each month instead. The extended warranty people make a nice profit, on the whole, and this is because they take in WAY MORE than they pay out. Use your logic.
