GPS slow map updates.
2020 XE with GPS maps downloaded to thumb drive on computer from Jag.HERE.
No problem updating the map in the car from the thumb drive - takes about 15 - 20 minutes. The problem lies in downloading the latest maps from HERE to the thumb drive. It's taking 20+ HOURS! My internet connection is not too slick here in rural France. A speed check shows a download speed of around 2.0 Mbps on average. However it's fast enough to stream movies from Netflix, for example. Could it be the server at HERE that's overloaded? Using the 300 fast thingy thumb drive. File size is around 32 Mb. Suggestions please.

I'm finding that it takes about 1hr to download a map update from HERE on my roughly 50 Mbps internet connection. So I guess 20 or so hrs on a 2 Mbps connection is about the same.
The map updates are pretty large as they cover all of Europe and Russia. It would be better if HERE devised a system to just update what has changed, rather than making you download the entire map each time you update.

Thanks for the info. Should be getting a fast fiber connection soon - I hope. Updating only changes is not as simple as it sounds so I guess they won't be doing that anytime soon. However, It seems to me that a European map, without Russia would be a better option. Most of us tooling around the UK and driving throughout the EU, I think, would not have the necessity or the desire to drive in Russia - not after seeing all those car crash videos on Youtube anyway!
