Has anyone tuned their 35T?

I have my tuned with Velocity AP which you can find on this forum. You connect the computer they send you to your port and run the update, just pick the file, then you can reverse by picking the stock file which they put on their device for you as well. Takes you from about 340 to 420hp. You do it yourself, no need for anyone. They will send directions but its as simple as reading your file on their device and emailing it to them. They email you back with a new file to put on the device. Go to their site (linked here somewhere) for pricing but they also run a couple sales during the year which is when most of us got it on this forum. I know there was a number of people who got the tune at the same time as me.

No I have not changed my tires, not even sure what I have but they are Continentals and they are great.... do not see myself going over 120mph and even if it happens once or twice I am sure the tires will do just fine..... with the price I do not believe you will get anywhere near the performance you would with this tune with anything else you buy for less, and it won't be much less. You should wait for their sale, I know they run it at least a couple times a year and probably around New Years would make sense. You should email them and ask, I am sure they will tell you when they plan to run the sale again. I am not sure you will find many, if any, people on this forum that use anything else, at least not on the XE.

I've been looking at this as well. The idea of adding so much horsepower via an electronic tune is appealing. My only question is does it void the warranty? Not the type of question I want to ask the dealer about, and since mine is a 2017 with just 3000 miles, there's still value to the factory warranty.

If you contact them directly, maybe some benevolence could be thrown your way for an extra couple of bucks off? Worth a try. 10% off forum members if still active is quite attractive at that. The power upgrade is significant for the money if you think of it in those terms. Where else are you going to get 80 HP increase for 1K? How much faster it makes your car is another story...

Thanks Moses. Going to do a bit more research but am seriously considering the velocity AP tune. My relationship with the dealer is limited to just the salesman. As new owners, we have only dealt with the service department once: for an oil change. But, I'll start the conversation and see where it goes.

There are plenty of threads on whether the tune can void your warranty. In most basic terms "it could void your warranty", but I personally think the odds are very slim. Especially if you have a relationship with your local dealer. If something happened to your car that was related to the new values your tune changed; you could be f***ed... The likely hood of that happening is unlikely. Velocity AP are well know and respected; they know what they're doing FWIW.

In the meantime...I'll see ya in my rear-view. I'll be the one growing smaller and smaller as I pull away ahead of you....lol. (Just JK)
Finally, the tune can easily and SHOULD be reversed back to factory settings when you take the car in for service, in case they load an update to the core code while at the shop.
As for warranty concerns...Jaguar will tell you the aftermarket tune "May void your warranty", so there is always the risk they might fight you on it.

VelocityAP is located in Canada, just so you know. So you won't be charged any sales tax. For me it would be worth having the tune a few months earlier, and there is no guarantee he'll have the introductory rate again as this tune is already the best value on the marketplace IMHO.

Would they be able to tell the ecu was tampered with if you flash to stock?

Short answer...Yes. But they cannot verify what your previous tune looked like, only that the ECU was reflashed the date you reset it. And there laws that should protect the consumer while doing this. Just know going in that Jaguar will very possibly fight you on this matter, as they want to motivate you to buy the 'S' instead.

Steel, mine is a lease...... lease or finance is no difference really. Actually Chase owns my car and not the dealer so they could care less what you do with it. I had a body shop scratch my window trying to tint it and I Called the dealer for possible penalty if I didn't have them fix it. They told to call my bank to see what their rules are.
As to your question no matter what tune you do, the dealer can always tell you tempered with the car, no matter what they tell you.

The dealership is not out to void your warranty and deny service. They make money on servicing your car. That being said, if something should happen they can only work with so much if you altered your ECU. That point would be in JLR had to be involved with the repair and that came to light.
There was a standalone Jaguar dealer near me that use to do the pulley and tune on Supercharged Jag's and they promoted like they'd stand behind it with no issues. Granted, there little to any standalone Jag dealers any longer...

Glad this thread just popped up.
I am selling the Velocity AP Tuner and Pulley kit. Both are new and come with a warranty from VAP as well free tunes for life from VAP.
I will make a sale thread shortly, can't beat my deal on authentic product backed by Stewart himself.
