Default InControl touch pro upgrade

Is anyone aware if you are able just to swap the incontrol screen from the standard 8” to the 10”premium head unit using the same carriage and wiring? I want to upgrade to be able to use android auto which cant be done with the 8” screen.

Almost certainly yes you can, I have done the same with the XJ/X351 that shares the same ICTP IMC-based platform.

Swapping the screen hardware and changing the CCF are the easy steps. I'm not familiar enough with the XE to know if the 10.2" screen was offered from launch or only recently, early ones may have been IAM-based, and if so your car would need to be using the IMC and not the IAM. Looking at the current parts info the fascia and reinforcement brackets appear to be the same from launch to current, so you may be luckier than I was with the XJ in that you only need to replace the various fascia trims (screen brackets and bezels) which would be much less effort. You'll need someone familiar with the XE to advise which trim parts need changing if your vehicle is suitable for it.

I would be interested in this too. Where are you sourcing the upgrade from and for how much? I can see they sell them on ebay but look like third party devices and not the official jag model?

Car Configuration File - it is a block of data that contains the vehicle configuration. Think of it like DNA.
