Hi,

I have a Jaguar XE 2015, the engine management light is currently showing and the garage have advised a new engine. Everything else is in good condition.

We are looking to sell this car so I wanted to see if anyone could advise in how to proceed, do we sell for parts? how much do you think we could sell the parts for?

This car is my dads and he has recently fallen very ill so i'm trying to help with some admin.

The garage have managed to get it started.

Any help with this would be great.

The engine warning light indicates one or more of a huge number of faults, ranging from a loose connection to a major problem. Without your finding out what fault code has lit the warning, it's not possible to confirm or deny the need for a new engine, but if the engine can start, there must/may be some hope of resurrection

If the car is driveable, you should get a more definitive explanation of what is wrong from a Jaguar Independent garage (not a Main Jaguar Dealer). Would that be possible?

Where are you located within Sussex? A local JEC member may be able to help with fault code reading.
