I have just collected my 2017 Jaguar XE from the dealership after having its timing chains replaced as well as the oil pump. Not 24 hours later the engine suffered a catastrophic failure. The oil level seems very low given I had just collected the car the day before! My question is, it this level of oil in the car appropriate. I believe that the garage did not replace the oil adequacy which caused excessive wear on the cam shaft bearings. The engine is the 2.0 180 Ingenium Diesel.
You did not check the oil before you accepted the car from the garage? After an engine rebuild??
I think you will have a hard time proving what the level was now the car has left the service shop? Do you have a warranty of any kind from this shop?
We did not get any Diesels here in the US so posting where your from will help too.
