Default Picked this up almost on a whim

My dealer had this on the lot... Italian Racing Red with black accents. It's a 35t AWD R-Sport, nearly fully loaded.

Lots 'o' car for the money!

These are publicity photos from the dealer's web site -- just got the car late this afternoon and haven't yet had any daylight for me to get my own photos taken!

As always the guys at Bellevue Jaguar were fantastic to deal with from beginning to end.

Your car is beautiful. I have same car in black and am really starting to enjoy it. As you said it is a lot of car for the money.

That's a real nice car, good opportunism! I wish the 35 was available on more levels of trim over here, enjoy the ride

Looks awesome.

When you say "almost on a whim", do you mean after test driving? Or did you stop by the dealer on a whim? I test drove one a while back (demo car, Mexico-spec) and really wanted to drive one home right then. But they didn't have any to sell, and even if they did, I'm just not impulsive enough. Almost anything over $50 I have to sleep over before I pull the trigger.

Looks more or less like the one I ordered... expected in July.
I'm sure you will really enjoy it.

The car is for my wife. We were looking for something to replace her 2013 Evoque and test drove this car a couple of weeks ago. In the end we had decided to order a 2017 Evoque Autobiography instead.

I maintain a close relationship with the dealer and was in there yesterday checking out some other vehicles. This car was on the showroom floor. Several thousand $$$ less for more power and a similar level of refinement as a top-range Evoque led to "why are we not buying this car?" A few hours later it was ours. (Side note: the Evoque is still an awesome vehicle, we just decided to change it up a little.)

I can't explain why this particular vehicle lasted 3 weeks or so in their inventory. The GM there is awesome and typically orders a few cars of each model in spicier variations for stock, so it's possible to wander in and find a car like the one I bought, if the stars and planets line up correctly. (For example that's also how I wound up with my Firesand F-Type V8S.)

Between the Bellevue and Lynnwood stores they have several other XE's in stock. I saw lots of interest in them while I was in the Bellevue store yesterday (cars being pulled around for test drives etc.).

My experience was similar. I had heard of the XE and checked it out online. I saw the R Sport and thought it was interesting. I needed to replace a S4 lost in an accident. Walked into a dealership and they said the had just taken the R Sport of the truck.,took the car for a test drive on Wednesday and. Brought it home Friday. I have a feeling these cars will be popular.

Beautiful car!!! Congrats!

@Joearch, i would be very interested to hear your thoughts on how the R-Sport compares to the S4. I am coming from a '14 A5 and would love to hear your thoughts on performance, interior, sound system, etc.!!!

The S4 is a really great car. I had a 2014 and a 2014 and liked them a lot. The XE R Sport is more of a luxury car with a sporty edge. Nice ride quality in the city but still great handling. The Jaguar has a more luxurious interior and many more features like lane assist, cooled front seats, rear window shades, better media system. The S4 with the DSG transmission was nice. But I like the 8 speed on the Jaguar. For mostly, city driving in Los Angeles the Jaguar is making a lot of sense to me. I have had a number of folks comment that the Jaguar looks more like a grown ups car. Since I am turning 60 this week I guess it is about time.

GORGEOUS!

My GF would love this car, and having Driven the XE already - I would be quite jealous of it.

Enjoy!

That IRR w/ Black Pack is KILLER!

We've been back and forth on what car to buy and all of sudden, the XE makes the most sense for me.

Can't wait to drive one on Saturday. They're stock on R Sport is quite limited, so we'll probably have to order one.

The dealer has one right now (R Sport), but we loved the Glacier White. I was thinking of going the chrome route; side view mirrors, front splitter chrome, and possible chrome grill.

Sure are. I drove 300km today in ours on a mixture of substandard roads and some good stretches and hills with sweeping bends (Fair2, for your benefit a trip from Gold Coast to a bit south of Ballina along the M1 and Pacific Highway, very pretty country), just lovely to drive sitting on 100 - 110kph most of the way.

Came out of the car feeling great after essentially 3 1/2 hours of driving with only 15 minutes out of it at the half way point. Pretty good economy too, about 6.2l/100km for the round trip of mainly highway cruising.

Hi,Buce,
We recently did a trip to the Gold Coast nearly 4 k . We averaged 104 klm a hour and got 6.4 l/100km up and back. It was a delight. At a number Service Station we were approached with admiring enquirers asking about the "new" Jaguar. On one occasion we were next door to a tricked Merc AMG 63 when asked about the XE and no second looks at his AMG ,and asked " what did we have that he didn't ".

Well, we are negotiating on a Caesium Blue R Sport with Black wheels and Jet/Blue interior. They ordered it for their showroom, but I said I would take it. They are waiting to give me a trade in value on my Lotus.
