Default Removing the Head Unit

Has anyone removed their head unit? I've been trying to find a write up or video online but haven't found one.
I'm considering installing the NavTool Video Interface so I can mirror my smartphone.

Thanks
Bill

The A/C panel just pulls out and the monitor trim also pulls out too.

dude....i have had four Jaguars since 2004 until current and just to upgrade a ****ing door speaker is about impossible. Unless you plan on independently wiring a complete new system and bypassing the whole infotainment wiring....then this is about as lost a cause as the Confederacy. Valiant though it may be....lol...I was quoted $1800 just to get carplay functionality installed using navtool products. I really wish you the best and believe me....I will be watching with interest, but doubt you can make this work at a reasonable price-point.

So from your experience Navtool is not plug and play as they make it sound to be?

I cant speak to that as I was quoted that price and it included a $500 labor charge....but think about it. For $1800...you can upgrade to a top tier head unit that already comes with the latest tech, install really good midrange drivers and tweeters on the doors and have enough left over for a amp and subwoofer. You see? It just isn't going to make sense to go the navtool route. Another option is to go with the Chinese 10.25" screen which people on here have warned me against as it is described as being a knock-off cheap POS.
