Unknown Dash Symbol
Good Day all,
2017 XE Sport AWD, All packages except HUD.
This symbol (red circle with black and red car in it) appears and I cannot correlate to when or why it appears. I have not found anything in the owners manual that explains it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is a European road sign for "no overtaking allowed". Not sure why you get it in US

I am glad you asked this question first. I been looking everywhere to find out what that is. In my cluster the car symbols are in a rectangle box and not a round box like yours. Maybe because I have the HUD?
This symbol comes on and off all the time and I never could figure out why. Should this be removed for USA spec cars, I can ask the dealer as well?
If it is giving false traffic flow information that could be a safety concern for some folks.

But most of the highways are separated by either median or concrete divider, so no passing is possible anyway.
So it definitely is triggered by the sign recognition system, but for the wrong reasons. No passing zones are rare in the states. Unless it sees the double yellow and indicates it as "no passing"

It definitely is the 'No Overtaking Sign' here in Europe.
The roadsign is recognized by a camera place in the rear mirror and turns on and off automatically.

So would this be okay for our US spec cars to have enabled even though it is rare we travel on a bi-directional highway that normally has barriers?
What is the trigger point for this symbol to come on anyway? I want to see why it is being triggered and on that type of roads.

Of course I'm speculating here, but I suspect it is triggered by double yellow on the left and solid white on the right.

My symbol is the same as yours but in a rectangle box and not in a circle box.
This only comes on few a minute or less at times but this time it came on while on a freeway/highway that was 3 lanes wide and the opposite traffic was very far across a grassy median so I don't know how this could trigger. This grassy median is 4 lanes wide itself so there is no way you can pass anyway.

Red and Black Car Symbol
[QUOTE=codten;1642364]Good Day all,
2017 XE Sport AWD, All packages including HUD.
This symbol (red circle with black and red car in it) usually appears in school zones. I looked everywhere for it as well, with no luck. I even called the dealership, and they didn’t know?? I drive through two school zones to drop my kids every morning. I finally noticed this symbol
coming on and turning off before and after the marked school zone.
So…here in the states, it seems to pick up on the yellow flashing school zone signs??
Hope this helps!!
