Default Washington State ICE Vehicle Ban

This doesn't seem to have been well publicised, but on March 28 the Washington State Governor signed into law a ban on registering in the State any ICE engined vehicle made in 2030 or after. So this means that, not only will you not be able to buy any new ICE engined vehicle in Washington State from 2030 onwards, but also you won't be able to bring in and register an ICE engined car registered in any other state from 2030 onwards.
Washington is the first state to do this - beating out even eco-mad California.
Because the legislation refers to a "vehicle" and not a "car", it seems this new law will apply to all trucks as well. I guess the Governor hopes that electric full size trucks (or maybe hydrogen powered ones?) will be readily available by 2030, together with the infrastructure to charge them. Or maybe he just doesn't care because he thinks he is "saving the planet".

Kinda risky what the Governor did, but we'll see in the next election if he/she still stays in office. This will show how the people in that state approves of that.

Hmm... good question! The law as passed talks about banning ICE vehicles. So I guess this may well include motorcycles. Are Harley working on an electric version? I guess it would need an electronic noise generator to provide the distinctive Harley sound...

Same scenario for the UK, although hybrids are still allowed. Wonder if Washington will allow hybrids? I'm also left wondering what that means for hydrogen fueled engines?

I suspect that, although the UK government is pushing hydrogen as an alternative "fuel" (it's not BTW, it's just another means of transmitting energy created by something else), the lack of any joined up Government thinking has meant they've overlooked that non fuel-cell hydrogen powered vehicles could be classed as ICEs
