Weird Start Up Concern

Weird Start Up Concern
i just purchased a 2017 35t, and I love it. When I start it, the engine will idle around 1500 rpm for almost a full minute. Anyone else experience this? Is it normal? Also the injectors seem really loud, and I just need a little reassuring everything is totally normal before I call the dealer and sound like a paranoid owner.

Thanks for the responses. I’m sure it is fine, it just will take some getting used to waiting a minute before putting it in gear in the mornings. I am however almost certain I have stuck exhaust valve, or lifter issue that goes away when the car warms up and seemingly causes a slight misfire under load when the car is cold. I am going to take it in this week and have them take a gander.

Fair enough lol on both points. I have put it in gear before it settles down, with no issue. If I could wheelie that would be pretty sweet. I just had such a terrible time with my last new car (a 2016 mini cooper) that I am overly cautious I guess. It sounds like a fairly loud lifter tick at idle and under load, rpm sensitive. It may be nothing but I would rather have the dealer tell me its nothing than me rationalizing it away.

All Jaguars have initial high idle. It's designed for rapid warm up and reduced emissions on starting a cold engine. You should be finding it doesn't happen with a warm or hot engine. However, a minute does sound excessive and could indicate a faulty temperature sensor.
Jaguar recommendation is just to drive straight off without waiting for the idle revs to drop.
