Default XE 35T operating temperature

Hi folks,

Is there any published range for operating temperature for the 35t rwd XEs?

Recently had an issue with my 2017 and wanted to poke around and see if can get some ideas or advice.

I was driving back home after a trip and after about 10 minutes of some freeway driving (+ 10-15 mins or so street) started to get fluctuations on the temperature guage on some steep uphill portions. pulled over a couple times as it seemed to spike pretty fast out of the middle portion but found no issue with leaking coolant or any overly hot surfaces. I assumed maybe just some sensor issue combined with uphill and elevation driving as gauge would drop back quickly once gas was let off. Finished up my trip in the end driving more cautiously and with the heater on to be on the safe side and had no issue. I wasn't really in a good place to be able to just tow it out.

Once home i did top off the coolant (was still above min) and checked more thoroughly for visible leaks with no luck. I do plan on giving the car a drive with an obd2 tool plugged in to check the reported temperature.

Per my 2017 manual it says "Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature (approximately 90°C)"...

Cheers!
