New member, first post!
Ordered and waiting for an XE 2018 prestige with lots of extras.

Received the Vin number from the dealer last week and took a look at the build info on TOPIx as it's just finished build, I am concerned to see 2 items that are supposed to be standard for Australia as being listed as 'Less' so not included?

They are;
LESS TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING
LESS SPARE WHEEL

I've read on some of the UK forums that the dealer fits the spare, so maybe they do the same here, but the TPMS concerns me.

Anyone have experience with either of these on an Aussie build?

 

Hi, we have the R Sport and it came with TPMS and spare. The standard spec Prestige came with TPMS as well, and I think there would have been much excitement if it had no spare though it will be a space saver.

Enjoy the car, we have had ours for over 2 years and it is beautiful to drive.

 

Cheers Bruce, the 4 month delivery takes the shine away a bit, but it's nearly on the ship, so supposed to be here mid-June. Coming from a Mercedes C250, so I can wait..

Did you ever check your build specs on TOPIx to see what it said, did it say anything about your TPMS?

 

Actually here you go, it does have them in it, and the only things it says "less" for arent included...

Sorry, my post was confusing. The spare and TPMS dont say "Less" on mine, so maybe yours are not included for some reason but that would be odd. Check with the dealer.

 

Bazza your car has been built without TPMS, the dealer cannot retrofit it either.

 

Hmm, now it doesn't sound so good...

The car hasn't sailed yet, so don't know if it's too late for it to go back in to get the TMPS fitted, otherwise it's going to be an interesting discussion with the dealer if it arrives here without it.

I'll email the dealer the build sheet now and see what he says, we're not on the best terms at present, but i'll see what he says.

I'll let you guys know how I get on.

 

Just spoke to the dealer who checked his system and assures me that they're both included.

He has faith, I however am yet to be convinced.

Mid-June we'll find out I guess.

I feel a discount coming on...

 

Good work! I have to say, TPMS is nothing that a 3 month check at the servo wouldnt do, and I've taken the spare out of my f type and just have the can of goo, but I'd rather have them both than not.

 

Yes, I'll be extracting a discount if they're not there, but not the end of the world either way.

Need to find someone to override the video in motion once it arrives, I need to check when I get it first though as it says dual view touchscreen, so that may make it possible on half of it anyway?

Does your XE have dual view?

 

Not mine, but I think that OzXFR was able to disable some things on his f type with Cambo's assistance. I asked Jag if they could do some (to activate some options in dynamic mode on the f type which are software locked) and they say that they wont interfere with it.

 

I have had our R- Sport for 2 years and you will not be disappointed.

I dropped off my trade in C250 Merc today and picked up a loaner prestige 2.0T similar to the one I'm waiting on, so I will be reasonably familiar with it before my car turns up mid-June, although mine has loads of extras, so there will be lots of new things to learn and play with once it finally arrives.

Whilst there he gave me a copy of the build sheet from their system which has everything listed that I ordered, and the spare and TPMS are listed, so hopefully all will be good.

I don't understand why TOPIx has it listed differently, but time will tell.

Well, thought I would do the right thing and report back.

Picked up my car yesterday, and despite what TOPIx says, everything that should be on my car is there.

So, TPMS listed as Less, is there, and so is the space saver wheel which was also listed as Less...

Love the virtual instrument display, you can change it to show navigation on the entire 12" screen for example, and the dual screen is amazing, you can see whatever you want from the drivers side, like navigation or radio, yet the passenger can watch a DVD as the car is in motion, and it has bluetooth headphones so you aren't disturbed, amazing the way it works simply be the angel you look at it.

Happy days...!
