Just hit 60k miles and developed a rattle in the rear at idle. Replaced the dampener on the muffler itself, no change. Took it into dealership, spent a few days, said they adjusted the dampener and fixed issue, picked it and next morning noise was back and louder than before. Took it back to dealer and told them the noise sounds internal, they confirmed today that the muffler failed internally but it is not covered under the jaguar assurance warranty. Estimate to repair is over $1500. Anyone else have or hear of this issue? Still fuming at the fact that the warranty won't cover this.

In actuality the exhaust components are covered by a 3 year warranty according to the documents on your XF's MY.Other car manufacturers does not include it in their warranty because the exhaust system is considered as wear & tear components.
