Annual Maintenance

Annual Maintenance
Hi everyone,
My service required light came on I think a week back and I'm trying to get an appointment with some dealers here for the scheduled annual maintenance (Jag XF 2013, V6). I was told by the dealer I bought the car from that the last maintenance was done in April 2017. That was the second year maintenance (done every 16,000 miles or 1 year). My car has had 5000 miles put on it since then, so he told me this would be the third year maintenance even though it not 48,000 miles yet. I was hoping this would be covered under CPO but it's not. There are two dealers in my town, one quoted $801 excluding tax and the maintenance would take about 4 hrs. The other hasn't been returning my calls (Byers) even after numerous attempts and voicemails. I also called a dealer who's about 90 mins away and he gave me a quote of $575 including taxes and two hours of work. He said he might be able to bring it down a little bit since the car had 5000 miles put on it instead of the 16,000 limit since the last scheduled maintenance. My question is: are those 90 mins drive and additional miles on the car worth the $300 difference? I have never taken my car for a long drive, so debating whether I should. So wanted to get others opinions on this.
On a side note, I didn't realize the additional warranty that one purchases from Jaguar counts towards CPO. My car had a one year CPO on it and I bought two additional years of warranty from Jag. When I called Jaguar customer service today, she told me my car is listed as having a CPO for three years. I told her the CPO was only one year, the extended warranty I bought was two additional years, to which she said it lists as having a CPO of three years in her system.
Thanks!

So you will spend 3 more hours on the road, but two less in the shop. If you make more than $300 per hour then stay home, otherwise I would consider driving.

When I'm quoted a price for a service, the first question on my mind is what exactly do I get for the money? Check your Passport to Service handbook (or Jaguar Online if your vehicle is setup for online service history) to see the items in the schedule.
Jaguar scheduled service items are very much the same across the model ranges. The 36 Months/48k Miles service items are the same as the 12 Months/16k Miles service PLUS an air filter element and a brake fluid change. A brake fluid change is listed every 3 years regardless of mileage.
You should be asking the dealers who quote less hours/lower cost if this includes the brake fluid change. That is the only place they can cut time.

I always find it interesting with forum posts to compare the cost differences running a Jaguar in other parts of the World.
As a general rule parts and service are much higher in the US than in the UK but this is offset by the considerably higher fuel cost here in the UK. Australian and New Zealand members have eye watering import charges on vehicles and have to be more inventive sourcing parts but the climate means rust is nowhere near the problem it is in the Northern Hemisphere.
Here is the January 2018 'fixed price servicing' list for participating Jaguar Dealers in the UK:
I know exactly what it will cost me for the A or B schedule and for additional work such as brakes.
Taking the example of a brake fluid change. It will cost me 88 USD/65 UKP against the 191 USD/141 UKP aimulaidni was quoted.
