Default Bluetooth headache

Hi all. Just picked up my 2011 jaguar xf 3.0 litre today. I'm trying to pair my phone. Something that is pretty straightforward. However, when I press phone, it asks if I want to connect a new phone with a yes button. Every time I press this, it won't stay lit light blue and will not try to find a phone. I have wondered if there are too many phones paired but there isn't even a list of phones. I went back to the sales guy and even he is baffled. Is there a simple fix to this? I need my phone connected.
Thanks in advance
