Default Can anyone tell me what this is?

Does anyone know what this cover is called and what it covers on the 2016 3.0 Supercharged? Here is a photo with the cover circled in yellow. I was wondering if there is a gasket as I have a little tiny drip of oil coming from the bottom of this cover and would like to stop the leak. Thank you in advance!!

That's your vacuum pump. Don't remove that cover, it's not serviceable. It is held on by 2 bolts and driven off the lower cam that runs the fuel pumps. If the engine is full of oil, it's below the level and will leak out 2-3 quarts when removed. The pump seals to the front of the engine with a seal that fails with age. That's most likely your leak, not the cover of the pump itself.

Yes, it does have a vacuum line attached to it. It was only one drop of oil that leaked from it so I wanted to find out what I was looking at to replace or repair if it becomes more concerning. Thank you for your quick answer!! I will keep an eye on it!

Could you confirm this is the seal for the pump? If I replace it, do I need to do anything else out of the ordinary other than remove the two bolts and pull it out and replace the seal? Thank you in advance!!

That looks correct, and no there's nothing else to it, just the 2 bolts, and drain off some oil first so you don't take a bath in engine oil when you remove it. If you do it during an oil change, it should only at 10 min to the job.

Thank you so much! I found a video on it also just now that shows how to replace all the gaskets internally also if anyone is interested. The actual removal of the pump begins at the 1:15 mark of the video. Here it is. Again, you've been a great help and put my mind at ease. Thanks again!
