Any way to disable the kick down gear shifting feature when the car is in manual shifting mode?

 

Hi, I'm doing the same thing in my XE. In my car there's only one plug that connects to the pedal assembly so unplugging isn't an option, I've started making a blocking plate that goes between the pedal arm and the switch. I wanted a cover I could just slip on and off without adhesive, but in my car the switch is square but is recessed into the pedal assembly on two sides - top and right - so I'm having trouble getting the cover to stay on by itself.
