Hello, everyone! My wife would really like to get some sort of Jaguar. I have a question for the group: Has anyone had any success finding a grommet or way to feed power from the battery into the passenger cabin and back to the trunk?

The battery is in the trunk. There are switched and unswitched hot points in the cabin. If you post what you want to accomplish maybe someone has done it already. I haven't added anything electrical.

I'm a ham radio operator, and I'd like to be able to put a radio or two in the vehicle. I did not realize that the battery is in the trunk. I'm leaning toward an XF, but my wife prefers the F-Pace. As stupid as it sounds the three biggest "hang-ups" that I have are (1) Reliability - which seems to have improved (2) Being able to put a ham radio in the vehicle (3) SUV v. Sedan.

If you read any of the forums you'll find the X260 (XF since 2016) is very reliable. It also comes with a 60K mile 5 year warranty and all services/fluids/filters.

There's a shelf in the back of the trunk where it would fit nicely and still give you trunk space and with the folding rear seats you'd have full access to it

I'm not an SUV fan but the F Pace gets high marks from owners. Reviews say it handles more like a sedan and the power with the supercharged V6 is exceptional without being a gas gussler.

So after four months of hell searching for a car, we finally got a 17 XE Premium. Found the battery and figured out a “ghetto” way to get the wires in from the trunk. My seats do not fold down. Is there any way to possibly force them down (unbolting stuff) to do the install and then put it all back?

Are you sure? I thought all US spec XF have fold down rear seats. Mine came with them and I didn't have to order that feature. Look in the trunk for two yellow release knobs beneath the rear deck. If you don't have them I seem to remember someone easily adding it in the UK by just buying the parts from Jaguar so it shouldn't be too hard. You'll be happy with your car and welcome.
Just noticed you have the XE model.., Try posting on that forum
