Had no issues regarding anything else other than cancelling auto stop/start. Only did it as my wife had started to cross a junction, was three feet into it when the car stopped. Couid have been seriously bad if anyone had been coming down the road. Very scary.

Yeah that is scary, thankfully no such scenarios for us yet. Maybe i am sensitive to it, but the abruptness is what bothers me. I never seem to remember its a feature and panic thinking the car just died on me. It also shudders more than i'd like, or other S/S cars I have been in.

Update - the pair of plugs on the can, removing the large grey plug (below the large black plug) effectively disables start/stop. It is very hard to reach on the Sportbrake. I had to use a non-marring pry tool to disengage/slide back the plug while simultaneously applying pressure on the locking tab. I also found it helpful to unplug the black plug to access the grey one and provide some slack on the wires that interfere with moving the grey plug. It took a bit of force to fully unseat the grey plug and get it to "point down" away from the female channel on the module. plug the black one back in and was good to go

You get the little icon on the cluster when it attempts to initiate, but now more stop functionality. Wonderful!

Thanks Marlow/Everyone else for confirming this

is enough to disconnect the start stop sensor cable from the battery negative pole, is a cable connection to the negative pole

Do the other wires lead to other functions?

After disabling SS by pulling the plug from the module I haven't noticed anything else that was affected.
