Default Jaguar XF 09 ebrake problem, Help!

Replaced rear driver side caliper and disk and brake pads a couple of months ago. It seemed funny after when putting the e brakes when parked on incline. When pressing ebrakes I will feel a bit of a tilt but drove fine. Weeks pass and one day getting out of the driveway the car seemed to struggle to run forward and I smelled burning from the back. Wheel was glowing and very hot. Tried driving it the next day to the corner mechanic but was closed next day the car drove fine. I suspect the ebrakes are not working getting stuck or could it be because after replacing caliper, disk and brakes I didn't reset the EPB. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Good question. I would also like some advice on how the Ebrake works, all my previous cars had a separate system for the emergency brake, so you could use it in an emergency. All I know now is that I activate a button on my console and I feel my brake pedal depress.
Your inquiry might also get some results on the older XF X250 Forum, you might search and post there, or the moderator might bump you over there.
I hope to hear some explanation of this system in any case.

Does the factory repair manual say anything about resetting the Ebrake after caliper and pad work?

P.
