jaguar XF 2.0d 2018 diesel knocking badly
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some quick advice as it’s extremely cold at the moment and I am stuck at a service station waiting for a recovery
I had the turbocharger replaced about a week ago. When I took the car out recently, it suddenly started making a loud knocking noise. I have inspected the turbocharger and everything looks fine. The car also had an oil service at the same time the turbo was replaced.
I’d really appreciate any guidance or suggestions on what the issue might be.
Thank you!

Sorry to say it, but it sounds like the lower bearing of a con-rod, (sometimes called the 'big end'), has failed. You can be certain only by draining the oil and looking for shiny fragments of metal which is the whitemetal of the bearing.
Have you had the car from new ?
