Default Looking for honest mechanic Detroit

I've bought a 2013 Xf in March 2019 it road fine for 2 weeks and one day I came out and it wouldn't start the console lit up the air vent opened up the radio came on but it just wouldn't startalso said gearshift fault on dash after several attempts it said other multiple things wrong on dash took it to the Jaguar dealership and they said it was too gearshift module about the gearshift module they said it didn't take and that led them to go up under the passenger seat to search another module and where they found water now I was told to fix this issue it will be 5 to $7,000 or more from the Jaguar dealership I took it to ogeen on John r East 8 Mile and they said it would be $14,000 to fix I just can't believe that a little bit of water would cost $14,000 the card itself only cost $15,000 are there any good honest mechanics that can fix this issue I'm just in disbelief that it costs this much to fix this car it's a beautiful car

Welcome to the forum Erik,

Please use full stops. A single block of text is hard work to read.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the XF. A 2013 XF is an X250 (2007 - 2015); the X260 (2015 onwards) is the current XF model.

If you are seeking recommendations for a mechanic in Detroit, the best place to ask the question is US Midwest Region ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ ) forum. However, as a Jaguar Dealer and an independent have already told you that one or modules are water damaged, you must expect a considerable cost for repairs.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Graham
