Car has been throwing this code. Clear a couple of times and came back.
At the dealer and they say its the gas cap becaue their Diagnostic didn't find anything wrong. But if it comes back they it means replacing the PCM and purge valve at about $3.3k. They said both have to be done and they can't just replace the purge valve.
First out of warranty repair and feels overwhelming. I could use some advice. I'm the DC area.

I call BS on their claim that the PCM and purge valve have to be replaced together but they are the 'experts'.. Go to an indy, don't tell them about what the dealer said and see what they say. It's worth just trying the valve first to see if that is the cause. BIG difference in cost. My $.02
If they say it's the gas cap have you replaced it yet to see?
Not an expensive thing to do.
Note that is an EVAP code indicating a small leak. If the leak gets larger it will set a different EVAP code.
Can you DIY the purge valve? That would save you a good bit?
