90% of the time it is a canister close valve. it's off the right side carbon canister. usually a proper smoke test, at a jag dealership.. can easily pin point the leak.

Had the same problem two years ago. The cannister valve was $71.22 with 1.5 hours of dealership labor for $133.50 = $204.72 w/o tax. Will probably be a bit higher for the part now.

Just for giggles, see if they will warranty the cap. That's the most common problem and they can't make all of them exactly perfect.

Wow! That's a head scratcher. Purge valve makes sense. The ECM is an expensive guess.

when you smoke test the system ... if the purge valve is stuck open the smoke will come out the airfilter...
when you replace the close valve your sappose to check the actual vent and and pipe for corrosion.. if it is corroded then rust can fall back into the new valve and keep it from sealing..which will give you p0455 evap gross leak. again.. definitly not the ecm..
