Are you "double locking" the car - two taps on the lock button, followed by the locked chirp; if so, it will not remote start.

I believe it will not start if you "double tap"; you should try it with just a single lock tap

1. is the vehicle definitely currently connected showing UPDATED JUST NOW?

2. after selecting REMOTE, are you TOUCHING and HOLDING the round blue button?

Temperature has taken a big jump in England this morning (48 deg F) after several days below freezing (it was 28 deg F yesterday) and I had used remote climate for the last few days. It can take around 30 seconds to communicate and start the vehicle and the button must be held throughout until it starts.

With the cold weather I tried to use remote start when the car had been standing unused for several days. When I tried I got a message on the App: "remote start will not work because vehicle is asleep. Manually start the car to wake it up".
This to me seems to defeat the object of remote start. I understand that, when the car is asleep (to preserve battery power which is good), there is no way that the Jag servers can contact the car, but surely there ought to be a way of waking up the car remotely - say from the key fob?
Otherwise, one of the the most likely times you'll want to use remote start, it won't work.

Jaguar Remote applies to all current models so I've assumed XF and F-Pace wil have exactly the same options available. I use my F-Pace daily and haven't noticed this limitation although it will certainly go into 'sleep mode' shortly after being fully alarmed.

There is a Wake Up Timer function under MORE - VEHICLE SETTINGS showing Use when vehicle is parked for an extended period. Does this waken it up?

Yeah, I looked at the wake up timer. Trouble is this can be setup only for a future single event, and that event has to be a minimum of 24hrs in the future. So you have to know in advance when you want the car to wake up, and you have to set it up BEFORE the car has gone into sleep mode. So it's no use when you try to use remote climate when the car is already asleep.

I’ve tried to remotely start the climate function with the car unlocked, with one lock tap and double lock tap but it still doesn’t work. The remote lock/unlock and the flash and bleep functions work fine??

For advanced features not included in the free Remote Essential Smartphone App, the pre-requisites are an active Jaguar Remote Premium subscription and an internet connection. If you have these, 'not available on all vehicles' is likely to be why Remote Climate will not work on yours .....

A three year subscription (in the UK) is included with new vehicles and advanced features are disabled if the subscription is not renewed.
