Replacing rims
My rims are beat - I had to get new tires due to the wear and when I did the installer told me all four rims were bent - "eggshaped" he called one. He didnt want me to spend all that money on tires and complain about the drive when it was the wheels. I saw for myself so I ordered new rims- I get them on later today but my question is - should I keep the old ones and get them repaired? I got a quote to refinish, fix etc..it would be about 200 -225 a rim - That is about what I paid for new ones. (each not total...I wish total lol)..or do I just them go, I know getting oem jag wheels for an XF are expensive - should I pay the 800 and get them redone and sell them or just let them go?

No. What for if you already have purchased a set of new ones? Do you mean to use for snow tires? Still no if a set of new ones is close to the price of the refurbishment. I'm either missing something here or I don't get it.

Because as far as I can see oem wheels are expensive - like 2000 dollars expensive - I meant to refurb and sell or reburb put them back on and sell my new ones. That is what I was asking - is it worth it to refurb 2000 dollar wheels for 900 bucks or just forget it and live with what I bought.

XF 20" x 8.5" wheel replacements similar to OEM
I am in the same situation (two cracked wheels due to pot holes on I-70 in Indiana). I am looking to replace all four wheels but would like charcoal/gray (similar to my DRACO style OEM wheels) rather than black. Anyone have a good experience with a source for XF 20" x8.5" wheels? My car is a 2015 XF AWD Sport 3.0 L Gas

I actually found a nice staggered set 20×8.5 front and 20×9.5 rear off Ebay for $700 made by GWG really good quality. Sold the others to Detroit wheels online and it was a wash for me

You should have the rims repaired. I have a guy who repaired my 4 sets of Caravela wheels curb rash from the original owner for $400. I bought a set of Propellor (Aquilia) as I liked those better for the looks and ease of cleaning. He did a great job and I also had him check the wheels to see if they were bent. They were ever so slightly, but didn't need to be fixed. You should be able to find someone for much less than 200 a rim. I have mine saved for either snow tires or when I sell the car as they were originals.

I don't know what the deal is with the wheels on this car. I have to have 3 of the 4 wheels on my 16 XF (19" wheels) repaired because they are bent. Years and years with cars having high-performance, light-weight wheels and I never had one bent so badly it had to be repaired. Now 3 out of 4 on one car I've only put 13000 miles on?
Was I just unlucky or is this common on this car?

Not a lot you can do - could step down to 18inch if your brake calipers will allow and that gives better protection
Some styles are more resilient than others (eg those with more well-spaced spokes). Or you could look for forged aftermarket ones which are stronger
Watch out for those potholes...

The jag wheels seem to be particularly prone, but aftermarket wheels suffer too. It's quite a heavy car

Don't buy what - not sure I follow? If you search the X250 section for the earlier XF model you will find literally dozens of us who have had this issue. Large 20 inch wheels, limited sidewall (eg 30 ratio) and apparently relatively soft alloy wheels. Quite a lot on the XJ forum too - again typically with the 20 inch wheels

So to me, this is not normal and is a real weakness in the product Jag is delivering.
