Car starting fine, rotary gear knob went up normal. But is locked and unable to switch gear. Tried restarting car with ignition on/off. Didn't work, about to give up and decide to went outside and shut the car of , lock the door completely, figure to give it a try again, miraculously, its back to normal.
Few days later, the knob got locked again, this time, I tried turn off ignition and locked the car and unlock the car and turn on ignition again, it went back to normal.
My last key fob battery change was a year ago, my last car battery change was 4 years ago. Thinking of taking it to the shop to check my battery health.
Any other suggestions? MY2016 X260 25t 2.0 petrol
Don't see much issue with x260 rotary knob, though lots of known issue with x250

How old is the battery? With a weak battery normally, on these cars with sensitive modern electronics, more likely the electronics will play tricks on you.

 

Thanks, took it back to the shop and the battery is still in good capacity with ~80% left. But the voltage level was low, meaning the battery is low, probably doing too many 5 mins commute driving lately. Need to take the Jag out to run 30mins at least once per week.
After the recharge, everything behaves normal as of now
