Default X260 (2016 XF) Cabin Filter.

Does anyone know where it is, if there is one?
And, any DIY links for our X260 only?

I think it's scheduled for a "B," around every 24 months. Too long where I live (Northern New Jersey).

Humidity? Pollen? Dust? Too close to New York? There's a car filter company on the internet that sells all the filters and has video instructions on how they are installed. Tried to find it again and failed but give it a try. Let us know if you're successful.

Try this:
FilterHeads.com - Part Number AQ1215C

Doesn't look exactly the same but the panel with two connectors is on my car like in the video. If it works let us know and you owe me a 6 pack of River Horse

X260 XF Prestige 2017 If you look at the video it makes sense. It's behind the glove box but the removal is straight down into the passenger foot well.

Video is labeled as a 2011 XF, and under/behind the glovebox is different than our 2016.

Oops, my bad. I should have noticed that You can see the filter after removing an inspection cover under the hood in front of the firewall. It's oriented differently than in that video as well. It sits flat on the horizontal. I see where it looks like the whole glove box assembly may be mounted by four torx screws. Two accessed in the top rear from inside the box and two at the bottom corners just outside the pivot points accessed from outside the box when closed. Did you try those? Jeez, I hope there's some trick to just easily dropping the whole box. Seems weird to go through so many hoops to replace a cabin filter.

I'd prefer NOT disassembling without knowing for sure that the filter was there. Will look under the hood (Bonnet - LOL) again. Thanx!

The filter is in fact behind the glove box. I changed my a couple months back, unfortunately I did not took any pictures. The trim panel under the glove box and the glove box itself will have to be remove. The trim panel is pretty straight forward to removed. To remove the glove box, first remove a plastic panel that cap the right end of the dash, this panel have an airbag sticker on it, it just pop out. After removing the end cap look for a small tensioning cable that attached to the side of the glove box, with a hook tool unhook the cable and allow it to retract into the tensioning reel. Next remove 2 hinge pins on the back side of the glove box, roll the pin so the vertical part moved out of the locking slot and slide the pins out. There is a stop pin on the left side of the glove box so you cannot pull it straight out, carefully slide the right side of the glove box out first until the stop pin on the left clear the cutout slot on the left side, also noted that the stop pin on the left have a piece of rubber over it for cushion, it fell out on me and took me awhile to figure out where it came from. Once you got the glove box out you should see a door to the filter compartment, unlatch the door and pull it out, the filter should be attached to it.
About the filter: Most of the filters that advertised for the XF are for the older model and will not fit the x260. The dimension of filter for X260 is 8 1/2 X 7 5/8 X 1 in. or 210 X 195 X 3 CM The filter(non oem) part number CF10285 have the correct dimension.
Installing the Filter: When installing the filter pay attention to the direction of the air flow. OEM filter are mark with the word "UP" as in when installed correctly it should read "UP", The generic filters are mark with an arrow to indicates direction of flow which is typically installed with arrow pointing down.

Thanks!! I previously got as far as unhooking the tension cable and stopped. I find standard cabin filters don't stop noxious smells well so end up making my own filters
