Default XF and XE same aircon problem

My 2017 X260 and a neighbour's 2016 XE, both RHD, have the same problem.
My centre right facia vent does not open, no airflow. The left one is O.K.
The XE has a similar problem, which is intermittent.
We both have a similar centre console and info screen setup, see photo.

Has anybody taken out the info screen ?
If I can remove that without breaking any plastic clips then I can possibly get at the vent flap and motor.
There is a Youtube video of removing the whole dashboard on a 2009 XF, but that has a different facia.

Attached the workshop process, it's for a LHD but it's literally the same, just flipped over.

Thanks for that.
It looks like an excerpt from the 13,000 page X260 workshop manual which I have.
Although it shows much larger images which makes the process clearer.
Further diving into the workshop manual suggests I will probably need to take out the instrument cluster too.

Yes it's from Topix WSM, if you need more info on a part of it let me know and I can dig it up.
